Introduces candidates to a range of common ultrasound applications for paediatric emergency medicine.
- Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma (FAST)/Focused Assessment for Free Fluid (FAFF)
- Basic ultrasound of the chest, including pneumothorax and effusions
- Focused echocardiography in cardiac arrest
- Ultrasound-guided vascular access, central and peripheral
- Basic MSK - Identification of fractures and other injuries
- Identification of foreign bodies
- Essential nerve blocks
All courses include topics:
- An introduction/review to physics of ultrasound
- Good governance and how to progress after the course.
